Guide to the development and ecological maintenance of urban ponds for the City of Brossard

City of Brossard – 2018-2019

The City of Brossard wishes to develop a municipal park (large urban park) on a portion of the former golf course where five artificial ponds are located and add a permanent retention basin.

T² Environnement has written a guide proposing concrete tools for the development, maintenance and enhancement of ponds and the permanent retention basin while respecting the vision developed during the citizen consultations that took place between 2015 and 2017.

T² Environnement first conducted a field inventory to briefly assess the current conditions of the ponds and the future location of the permanent retention basin.

The guide presents various proposals to control invasive alien species, increase shoreline plant diversity, create wildlife habitats, and monitor water quality and proposed developments.
