Hydro-Québec (HQ) – 2017-2018
The first part of the mandate involved writing the content of a guide for pollinators on how to develop power transmission rights-of-way. The guide is divided into three main sections. The first one allows the reader to familiarize himself with the large groups of pollinators present in Quebec and the many ecological goods and services associated with them. The second section concerns the developments and offers several concrete and simple courses of action to set up development projects that will benefit pollinators. The last section provides diagnostic tools to guide the person interested in making such developments.
The second part of the mandate involved evaluating the habitat potential of power transmission rights-of-way for the islands of Laval and Montréal using geomatics tools. The analytical method developed was based on the use of three criteria: the importance of the vegetation cover, the proximity of natural water points and the quality of the vegetation present.
